Congratulations to Mutsumi Yoshida

The Managing Director of the Translational Resource Center (TRC) since 2017, Mutsumi Yoshida PhD, has taken on a new role at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) as the Executive Director for Research Strategy and Development beginning in April 2026.  Mutsumi has been instrumental in the success of the TRC and we wish her well in her new position. HSDM is very fortunate to have her on their team and she will certainly be missed by all of us at the TRC.

In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the TRC, Mutsumi provided administrative leadership and direction. She was involved in critical decisions as the structure and operations of the TRC were developed. Amongst Mutsumi’s many accomplishments were the management and success of the ITP program. The number of FDA filings, products getting to market, follow-on funding and fulfillment of the DOCTRC mission to get regenerative medicine technologies to the patient are the result of Mutsumi’s dedication. Mutsumi was highly collaborative and an excellent liaison with the many internal and external stakeholders of the TRC. In doing so, she became the face of the TRC and did an excellent job representing the TRC at Michigan and across the US.

The University of Michigan and the TRC Leadership have posted a job opening for the Managing Director of the TRC. We look forward to welcoming a new member to our team and finding ways to incorporate their skills and experience into our resources to benefit our ITPs and the Center.

In the interim, the following individuals will assume Mutsumi’s responsibilities. Please reach out to Jiawei, Katie, Mary or Cait for support or questions, and also feel free to contact David Kohn (dhkohn@umich.edu) with any questions or concerns.
