SUMMARY:Pharma Europe 2021
DESCRIPTION:We’ve entered a new era. One where being risk averse is the riskiest strategy\, long-established operating models have been torn up and reimagined\, and where investment into digital innovation – both culturally and financially – has ignited. \nYour challenge now? Scale\, widen and hone this transformational potential or fall behind rapidly evolving customer and patient need. Digital must be embedded into every facet of your organization; enterprise data infrastructure\, AI and advanced analytics must dictate each stakeholder interaction; and “patient centricity” must become obsolete – so ingrained into your organization’s every action that it is subconscious. \nJoin thousands of your peers at the world’s gathering for pharma pioneers and health innovators – Reuters Events Pharma 2021 (formerly eyeforpharma Barcelona) – the biggest\, most senior and cross-functional commercial pharma event. \nWe may be in the year of the vaccine\, but we’re just beginning the decade of pharma’s awakening. \nTo register for Pharma 2021\, go here. \nTo see the speaker line\, go here. \nTo see the agenda\, go here. \n*There is a cost to attend this meeting.  See the meeting website for more information. *

SUMMARY:9th German Stem Cell Network Conference 2021
DESCRIPTION:9th GSCN Conference\n\n\n\n\n\nDear friends\, participants\, partners and colleagues\, \nWe welcome you to the 9th GSCN Conference 2021 from 6 – 8 October 2021 in Dresden in Saxony! Due to different pandemic hygienic regulations in the states and venues\, we are happy to announce that we are on track for a face-to-face meeting – but with a change of locations. The GSCN Conference will take place in Dresden. We sincerely hope that you are as happy as we are to meet again and will be able to integrate the change of locations with your travel plans. \nWe invite you with a warm welcome back to a GSCN conference \, almost as we knew it in the past years. There will be specific hygienic regulations:\nThe hygiene concept requires that you are completely vaccinated 14 days before the conference and we will need negative tests at the registration and every morning (there will be test facility free of charge close by to minimize the hassle). \nWe expect around 300 participants (due to Pandemic Regulations)\, five great international key notes\, lots of sessions with the presentation of new findings and intense discussions about new data\, two poster sessions and two social events to finally get back together in person! An interesting and broad industry exhibition will offer latest technologies and personal contact as well as a set of sessions. \nThere will be different symposia from ELSA to different focus topics to a central Presidential Session\, where the GSCN awardees 2021 will present their findings and a presidential invite will offer insight into new data. A Non-PI-meeting will be again part of the conference program – and as innovative input from the pandemic experience it will take place as a hybrid meeting. \nPlease join us for the 9th GSCN Conference – be part of the community\, be part of the networking\, the discussions\, and the joy to meet again! As a participant described in the online survey 2019: “Networking is great and clearly in the heart of the conference. Close proximity to leaders in the field. Relevance of presented topics. / Great presentations\, very good keynotes\, good opportunities for networking.” Let’s go for it! \nAgenda \nRegistration \nRegistration for this event is now closed.

SUMMARY:Materials Research Society Virtual Workshop Series - 3D Printing for Medical Applications
DESCRIPTION:3D printing\, also known as additive manufacturing and solid freeform fabrication\, is an approach involving additive layer-by-layer fabrication of a three-dimensional structure through selective joining of material; processing of the structure is directed by a computer-aided design (CAD) model. Unlike conventional methods\, 3D printing techniques may enable the development of structures with well-defined small-scale features and multiple functions. This MRS/SFB joint webinar aims to address recent 3D printing for medical applications with a focus on recent advances in biomaterials for 3D printing and recent efforts to translate 3D printing technology. In particular\, efforts to characterize 3D printed materials via in vitro and in vivo methods will also be considered. The processing of radiographic images and the development of computer models will also be discussed. We anticipate that this workshop will facilitate future research activities\, including industry-university collaborations\, involving 3D printing of biomaterials for use in medicine\, surgery\, and dentistry. Speakers will include: \n\n\n\nModerator: Roger Narayan\, North Carolina State University\nDietmar W. Hutmacher\, Queensland University of Technology\nJinah Jang\, Pohang University of Science and Technology\nJames Yoo\, Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine\nScott Hollister\, Georgia Institute of Technology\n\n\n\nClick here to register. \n*There is a cost for this webinar.  Please see the registration site for more details.*

SUMMARY:Tissue Plasticity: Preservation and Alteration of Cellular Identity
DESCRIPTION:Cellular plasticity\, the ability to acquire new identities or adopt alternative fates\, occurs in normal physiology and disease states. Researchers are just beginning to understand how plasticity contributes to homeostasis and regeneration in the setting of tissue injury. Alterations in cell fate can be harnessed to treat disease\, but uncontrolled plasticity can destabilize cell commitment and contribute toward neoplasia. The cellular and molecular underpinnings of cellular plasticity provide insights into disease processes and enable new therapies. This virtual conference will explore the diverse mechanisms that underlie plasticity in different tissues and contexts. By bringing together leading scientists in stem cell\, developmental\, regenerative\, and cancer biology through digital technologies\, this interdisciplinary program will highlight common principles and unique features of cellular plasticity in different tissues and examine the therapeutic potential of this process. The conference represents a unique opportunity for researchers in diverse fields to visit evolving concepts in cellular plasticity and the molecular mechanisms and physiological consequences of altered adult cell identity in vivo. While the topic has been included marginally at other conferences (i.e.\, conferences on stem cell biology\, regeneration\, epigenetics\, and cancer) only this Keystone Symposia conference\, first held in 2019\, has focused on cellular plasticity across mammalian tissues. This virtual conference will assemble speakers from diverse disciplines and organ systems to identify cross-cutting themes and provide a forum for investigators to explore common underlying mechanistic principles and therapeutic potential. \nProgram is intended for scientific researchers and clinical audiences. \nJoin us for this landmark virtual event\, brought to you by Keystone Symposia. \nRegistration for this event is now closed.
